Individual coaching

What is career coaching?

Career coaching is about more than just finding a job.

Your career journey is the way you’re choosing to live your life. Everything you do is interconnected. You may have kids, or aging parents. Maybe you have a community group or team that you love spending time with.

As each area of your life impacts the other, understanding your strengths and the ways you naturally show up in all aspects of your life is essential. Whether you’re navigating a career change, actively looking for work, or just can’t quite put your finger on why things don’t quite feel right, career coaching will help you sharpen your ability to make good decisions for yourself, in a way that works for you.

What to expect

Initial Contact: Introductory Session

The best way to know if coaching is right for you is to try it! Book a one-off coaching session to chat about your career, talk through a challenge you’re facing, or just see if coaching is right for you. During an initial 45-minute introductory call at a reduced rate, you’ll be able to draw on my full range of training, mentoring, coaching, and knowledge of available resources. And if you’re interested in longer-term coaching, our work together begins here.

Career Coaching: 8 x 1 Hour individual coaching sessions

Over 8 sessions we will explore the whole you, from better understanding your strengths and values to anticipating and planning for roadblocks along the way and so much more. This customized career coaching series will be all about you, as you develop a solid understanding of who you are, a vision for where you are going, and strategies to get you there. This series is based on the internationally recognized and award-winning Career Counselling work of Dr. Norman Amundson.

Example engagements

The frequency of coaching sessions can be customized. Some examples of individual coaching engagements are (but not limited to):
  • Individuals in motion. This may be from high school to university, university to a career, or one job to another. Transitions aren’t easy. Knowing who you are, what you’re good at, what’s important to you, and what might stand in your way will be essential as you make your move.
  • Parents, interested in better supporting their children (of any age) as they discover what brings them joy and who they are meant to be. Parenting isn’t easy. Career Coaching will equip you to better understand your children as well as yourself, gaining insight to who they are now, and the person they are becoming.
  • Individuals feeling stuck, uncertain, or without direction. You may have lost your job suddenly or maybe stuck in the same job with no way out. You may be experiencing a sudden life change and aren’t sure where to go from here. Let’s find out who you are in this moment together and imagine something great together!
